1-      DDI the manufacturer of the Rectangular  Square  Cube” TM  Channeled, Low Maintenance, Heat Exchangers & HEAT RECOVERY, is proud to announce that;

 DDI installed 6 Large Heat Exchangers via Ashbrook Simon-Hartley, of Houston TX, for their ECO-THERM Process Design in Tulsa OK.

 This project was with the cooperation of HDR Engineering Inc of Dallas TX and Tulsa  City WWTP.

 There are Sludge-to-Sludge Heat Recovery Exchangers and Hot Water-to-Preheated Sludge and Cold Water-to-Processed Sludge Heat Exchangers.

The system utilizes Sludge-to-Sludge Heat Recovery that could have a payback of within a year.

DDI has a compact Rectangular flow Channels, which allows for a No Plug design, or at least for much, much less plugging, then any other technology. It Is made in USA or Canada.

 DDI System has also the following main advantages; Large Heat Transfer Surface, Small foot print, More Turbulence, Gaps of 3 Inches to limit the sludge blockage, Full access to internals via Doors  in both sides, Davit Arms  for the doors to save space, Optimum Height for fast flow, Realistic Viscosities calculations, Thick Layers against Abrasion (0.25” & 0.375”), Back up of being able to use the Sludge-to-Sludge Heat Exchangers also for the Water-to-Sludge process, Tested for 9 years in North America, and has Very Low Maintenance.

 DDI is proud to have 39 REPRESENTATIVES to cover North America.

 In this latest design a Pig Cleaning System was incorporated to work with the DDI Rectangular channels.

DDI the manufacturer of the “Rectangular, Square, Cube” TM   Low Maintenance Heat Exchangers & Direct Sludge-to-Sludge HEAT RECOVERY Exchangers, is proud to announce that;  

 DDI has received the 2nd order of the DDI Heat Exchanger/Parker Boiler - combination.

In this latest design, DDI has incorporated a stacked Boiler design on top of the DDI Heat Exchanger, in order to save space.

DDI thanks Joe Gentle of Process Equipment Solutions, for obtaining this 2nd order from the City of Pontiac MI. 

This achievement will open the doors for DDI Heat Exchangers Inc and Parker Boilers CO, to compete as a joint effort in the Heat Exchanger/Boiler package.

DDI Heat Exchanger can flow Sludge in both sides, and therefore used as DIRECT-Sludge-to-Sludge Heat Recovery. 

(In this case it is used as Water-to-Sludge).

The Parker Boiler has dual input, Natural and Bio Gas.

DDI manufacturer of the “Rectangular, Square, Cube” TM   Low Maintenance Heat Exchangers & DIRECT Sludge-to-Sludge HEAT RECOVERY Exchangers, is proud to announce that;

 

DDI has received an order for Sludge Heat Exchanger from the Greater Vancouver Regional District, in BC, Canada, to be delivered this year. 

This project is for the design, manufacturing, and supply of a Sludge Heat Exchanger specified by Sandwell Engineering Inc.

 

DDI’s Rectangular channels design will supply the project with a Sludge Heat Exchanger. 

In this latest design, DDI has incorporated a special sizing design in order to fit in the available space.

 

We thank all the different people involved, especially the great cooperation from Mr Gary Soo and Mr Tom Nelson of GVRD Vancouver and of Mr. Richard Tam of Sandwell Engineering and Mr. Larry Sawchyn of Sanitherm Engineering Ltd, for making this project possible and for their help and support.

DDI Congratulates Joe Gentle of process Equipment Solutions, for obtaining the 1st DDI Heat Exchanger/Parker Boiler - combination.

This achievement will open the doors for DDI Heat Exchangers Inc and Parker Boilers Co., to compete as a joint effort in the Heat Exchanger/Boiler package.

The DDI Heat Exchanger can have Sludge in both sides and even be used as Sludge-to-Sludge Heat Recovery. (In this case it is used as Water to Sludge).
The Parker Boiler has dual input, Natural and Bio Gas.

DDI received an order for 2 Heat Exchangers for Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) in Chino California, to be delivered this year. 

This project was achieved with the cooperation of our Representatives Saddleback Environmental Equipment in Southern California and BSI Environmental Inc. and SCS Engineers and Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure GmbH of New Zealand and the IEUA staff and M. Industrial Mechanical, Inc.

We thank them all for their help and support. 

There will be Sludge-to-Sludge Heat Recovery Exchangers and Hot Water-to-Preheated Sludge flows in the SAME Heat Exchangers, at different Cycle time

The system will utilize Sludge-to-Sludge Heat Recovery that could have a payback within a few short years or only a few Months. 

In this latest design, DDI incorporated 2 Heat exchangers one on top the other, to save space.

In this latest design, DDI incorporated a Pig Cleaning System to work with the DDI Rectangular channels. 

The Advantages having the Pig Cleaning System are:

1- Allows for cleaning via a “Pig” with out a need for Sludge flow Drainage.

2- Allows for cleaning via a “Pig” with out opening the DOORS.

3- Allows for cleaning via a “Pig” the Internal of a Rectangular channeled Heat Exchanger, to reduce the Fouling and improve the Heat Exchangers efficiency.

4- It can be added to any DDI standard 6” Dia flange.

5- It can be used in the Water side too.

6- Allows for launching of the Pig and Extraction/Catching it too with the same parts (reverse order).

7- It avoids the risk of “losing” the Pig in the pipes, or the pig being stuck in a 4” pipe.

8- Allows for having a clean (no liquid) working area, to insert and remove the Pig. (for the benefit of the Technicians). I.e. The cavity could be emptied and cleaned with fresh water.

9- Allows for a NO OBSTRUCTION in the flow of the Sludge, while the process is on.

10- Practical modifications designed & manufactured by DDI utilizing available Valves.

1- DDI the manufacturer of the “Cube”, “Square” Channels, Low Maintance, Heat Exchangers, is proud to announce that there are 2 Heat Exchangers that operate in a Waste Water Treatment Plant CONTINUOUSLY for about 9 years WITHOUT ANY BLOCKAGE or any Maintance.

DDI opened one of the Heat Exchangers for inspection inside (both doors) for signs of blockage or any other possible problem. The channels seemed clear of any sign, or risk, of blockage. Tear and wear was minimal. Sign of rust was very faint, basically non-existent. The Pressures and Flows were tested in about 1.5 times the original design. We also performed an AIR pressure test to check for minute, tiny leakages, NONE WAS FOUND.

We did change the gazettes on the two doors (see pictures below).

 

3- DDI now has a Boilers and Lobe Pumps package as part of Our DDI Non Plug Heat Exchangers.

 

4- DDI is proud to have 35 REPRESENTATIVES covering most of North America. (A list could be found at www.ddi-heatexchangers.com)

DDI is a well-established company (since 1980) experienced in the design and manufacturing of plate type.

 

“CUBE”™, “Square”™, NON-PLUGABLE Heat Exchangers specifically suitable for Heat Recovery  from liquid waste materials containing large size solids such as Municipal Sludges & other processes. 

 

DDI’s unique Heat Exchanger & Recovery design was developed with large capital, R&D investment and solutions provided by several top design engineers working on R&D with the Government's help & encouragement.

These days, the Heat Recovery and Energy savings have become even more critical in every industry.

DDI has designed and installed Sludge Heat Exchangers that have been operating for as long as 7 (seven) years without the need of any maintenance.

The new DDI HE “high tech” for the WWTP (Waste Water Treatment Plants) can be used to heat sludge in a Mesophilic digester (35º C, or 95º F) or a Thermophilic digester (55º C, 134º F) or to conform to the new Class A solids disposal law, via heating to about (71º C, 160º F).

This heated sludge could only be used in our NON-PLUG Heat Exchanger to economically and efficiently RECOVER the heat, by heating the incoming cold sludge. 

Our specialized type of HEAT EXCHANGERS are destined for:  

A)  Recovery of Wasted Heat in Sewage Treatment Plants (or other industries), by the preheating of Cold Raw Sludge with the outgoing Hot Sludge. 

B)     Preheating of Raw Sludge with hot liquid before introduction to the Anaerobic digesters.  

C)  Cooling of Digested Sludge from Thermophilic to Mesophilic.

The cost for this innovative Heat Recovery Equipment could be recovered within a few months, allowing for substantial savings to the Municipality or Industry, year after year.
 
With the use of DDI equipment, ENVIRONMENTAL benefits can be realized together with
Reduced Maintenance Costs.

     Advantages Of DDI "Cube", “Square” Non-Block

       Heat Exchanger and Heat RECOVERY Systems.

1) Larger Circumference compared to Tube in Shell (round).

      For the same flow area, LARGER Heat Transfer Surface.

2) Smaller foot print then Tube. Less area required (about 1/3).

3) More Turbulence flow then in Tube or Spiral.

.     i.e. better Heat Transfer in zigzag channels.

4) Non-Block design, no spacers (obstacles) as in Spiral type.

5) Gaps of 2, 3, 4 Inches Min, no Sludge blockage.

6) No need for expensive Macerator & Blades to grind Sludge.

7) Both sides have doors, with full access to internals.

8) Designed for Optimum Height (Non Plug) for each liquid,

      And Optimum Width (for best flow speed, to avoid BAKING).

9) Quotes with Viscosity=1CPS as others, and with Computerized,

      assumed, more realistic Viscosities.

  10) VERY LOW MAINTANCE (once in a few years).

       (Some competition requires back flush every shift..).

  11) Can be used in Municipal or Agriculture or Pulp & Paper.

  12) Can be manufactured from different metals or alloys.

  13) Modular system, Can be used for Water-to-Sludge or

        Sludge-to-Sludge Heat Recovery.

   14) HEAT RECOVERY, can have Payback within a year.

15) Tested, in Use for 7 years, with NO need to open doors.
